Lesson 14: Scale prep: "Finger-Over" -- I Get Hot Playing Piano

In this lesson, we continue scale prevarication with "I Get Hot Playing Piano." To change hand positions in this exercise, the third finger will go over the thumb, reversing the thumb-under position change learned last week. We call this new technique the "finger-over" position change, and it too must be played legato. While the student is playing the melody of this exercise, you will accompany him/her using the opposite hand accompaniment. Then you child will play the accompaniment while you play the melody.
